April,1,2014

I'm spending my April fool's day stuck on a plane, not pulling pranks or jokes, just  strapped next to my brother for the next 18 hours. I'm really bummed out that we left, I feel's like we were there for such a short time. I got to learn and do a bunch of cool things. So right now I'm just sitting here next to Tre taking turns playing Angry birds on Mom's I-pad. I think I'm getting just a little bit airplane sick, my head and my stomach are starting to hurt, and I think I'm going to puke! Maybe I'm just hungry, yeah I'm probably hungry, I'll ask the flight attendance for some food the next time I see her. On this trip I learned that Kenya is not just some place in Africa with huts, and loose wildlife, but that it is just the U.S but cooler! Oh look I see the flight attendance , got to go!

Today's our last day in Kenya, so we decided to go to the beach and hang out. So mom getting her tan, and dad's spending his day on the board walk. Me and Tre both went in the water most of the time, I even found a dead jellyfish dried up on shore. When we were done we packed up, Went back to the hotel and put on some nice clothes, Because dad said he would take us all out for a nice dinner at the Shehnai restaurant! The fruit juice there is really good. My mom and brother good chicken and fish, me and my dad got Mughlai vegetarian fish, Even though were not vegetarian.

Today we really didn't do anything , we went to the hotel pool and swam a little bit after that we went to the diner and got some lunch , and really all we did was sleep and watch movies.
Honestly the most productive thing I did all day was play Ping-Pong with Tre in the game room(I beat him by four points:). When it was time for dinner we made some traditional Kenyan food!
We made Steak and Irio, I know it sounds fancy but really all it is, Is Kenyan beef with a side of blended potatoes.

Today was the worst day, It was raining, and it was muddy and it was just the worst. We went to Mount Kenya, and as we were hiking up the popular Naro Moru route, we saw a cute little squirrel like animal, but it wasn't a squirrel, I can't remember what I was called, I think it was a tree hyrax, oh yeah it WAS called a tree hyrax. A tree hyrax is a small mammal that is distantly related to elephants and sea cows, They have 4-toed front feet, And 3-toed back feet with rounded nails, and rubbery soles that help them climb. Anyway this tree hyrax is evil, I tell you evil! Because, When we stopped to take a closer look, And I was taking a picture with my camera, I guess the flash blinded it or something, because as soon as I hit the button, the tree hyrax jumped off of the branch of the tree, right onto my face, so I wasted five minutes of my life screaming and crying trying to get that thing off! #worst day ever.

It's my brother's turn to choose were we go today, and I was sure he would've picked something like the circus or the fair but I was really surprised when he choose something interesting like the Amboseli, the Amboseli National park is home to many features of wildlife such as lions, cheetahs, buffalo, and rhino's. While we were there we saw many swamps and springs we even swam in lake Amboseli! For lunch we went to the observation hill had a picnic and relaxed, the observation hill was the best part of Amboseli, just sitting there looking at all the wildlife while eating you turkey sandwich, It's calming. So I ended up having a blast.
Surprisingly it was all Tre's idea! Good choice little bro!

Today we went to the Meru National park, our train ride was at 9:00 so we had to wake up and get dressed early. When we got there we went down to the Tana river, ( there was lots of bird life there), Then we went to see Kenya's tallest palm tree's at Doum palms, then we went to see the rhino sanctuary with over 65 black and white rhino's!

I am so not excited to go to this stupid museum , I mean who names a museum Nairobi!
Why couldn't my parents just not talk to people like all the other people on the tour bus. But no, instead they just have to talk to this strange man who they don't even know. It looks like i'm the only person who's not going to have fun, even Tre's looking forward to this.
when we got to the museum It actually looked pretty neat, I went in this one room that was all about religion , I learned that Traditional religions declined when Christian missionaries arrived in the 19th century, and now 80 percent of Kenya is Christian! pretty cool right1
I ended up having a wonderful time, turns out things aren't always as they seem.
